(DES MOINES) Today, Governor Kim Reynolds officially filed her candidacy for Governor and delivered her nomination petitions to the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office. At the filing, Governor Reynolds was joined by her family, first time candidates for public office, and elected officials – including some people she personally recruited to pursue public office.

“Today I officially filed to be on the ballot for Governor. So thankful to be surrounded by family and so many awesome women who are stepping up and running for office,” said Governor Kim Reynolds. “Together, we will make Iowa even better than it is today!”

“Governor Reynolds isn’t someone who sits on the sidelines, instead she’s someone who steps up to get the job done,” said Carrie Koelker, candidate for State Senate District 29. “Des Moines could use a few more women in elected office, and I believe Governor Reynolds is just the person to lead that charge!”

“Today is meant to send a message to every small town girl, every waitress, and every grocery store checker: dream big, because you can do or be anything in Iowa,” Governor Reynolds continued.

To officially be on the ballot, Governor Reynolds delivered just under 10,000 signatures to the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office – hitting more than 2 times the ballot threshold. Her campaign also met the county minimum in each of Iowa’s 99 counties. Prior to the campaign’s launch, the Reynolds-Gregg Campaign recruited over 4,000 county chairs to help spread the campaign’s message in all corners of the state.
